Invitation to Simplicity– Minneapolis

Sep 25

You are invited to a no cost public presentation by Mark & Lisa Scandrette, authors of the book FREE: Spending Your Time and Money on What Matters Most , which addresses important questions about time, money, meaning and global sustainability. How you spend your time is how you spend your life. And how you spend your life is shaped by your economic choices. In the deepest sense, simplicity is an invitation to align time and money with what matters most. We were made to flourish and do good in a world full of abundance. Yet many of us feel crunched for time, stressed in our finances or perplexed about what makes life meaningful. There is a trusted path for recovering the life of meaning, freedom and compassion were were created for. This journey invites us to adopt soul practices like gratitude, trust, contentment and generosity and practical skills like time management, goal setting and living by a spending plan. The evening will include a talk by the authors followed by Q & A. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. FREE is filled with practical steps and exercises to help you cultivate a heart of abundance along with time and financial skills. Missional Salon | MONEY New York Upper West Side

Sep 12

Missional Salon | Money with Mark Scandrette  This Friday, September 12 | 7 p.m. | The Parlour Harkening back to the great French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, salons are gatherings of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. This season's Upper West Side salons are centered on Thriving in the City. Mark Scandrette has much to say on the issue of finances, freedom, and discipleship and will challenge us to consider some real and fresh kingdom possibilities. He will facilitate dialogue in a format that includes both inspiring presentation and opportunities for challenging conversation.  If God reigned over our money, how might we see the kingdom come in our midst? Join us this Friday, September 12, 7-9 p.m., at The Parlour. The event is free and no R.S.V.P. is required; this is a great event to invite participation from your neighbors. Drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.
